  • yacht condition & valuation surveys for insurance
  • damage surveys for insurance
  • consulting for repairs & litigation
  • deck & hull non-invasive moisture analysis

Types of Surveys

Yacht Condition & Valuation Marine Surveys - are most often done specifically for insurance purposes. This type of survey does not include a sea trial, or operational testing of all equipment and systems. Each insurance company has their own set of requirements as to what age/size vessel needs a survey, and what the report should include. This type of survey may be used for assisting with purchase decisions, insurance, financing, and estate or divorce settlements.

Pre-Purchase Surveys - the information contained in "Yacht Condition & Valuation Marine Survey" above is not sufficient to make an informed decision regarding the purchase of the vessel however it can be one of the tools used when considering the purchase of a vessel.  We do not offer comprehensive pre-purchase surveys where testing of all the operational systems, and sea trials are performed.

Damage Surveys - are performed for insurance companies, vessel owners, and other vested entities. This type of survey may include accident investigation and determining the nature, cause, and extent of damage to a vessel.

Moisture Readings - from moisture meters and percussive soundings are not definitive but are used to help a professional make informed judgment to the material’s moisture condition. Paint, anti-foul coatings, fouling, weather, core material, external & internal moisture, frozen sections, internal metal structures, and conductive materials such as salts, carbon, and metals can affect readings.
